Ok thank you, I was not sure if this was normal

Has anyone had oil leak from the screw on the valve cover before, my valve covers leaked and the guy that I took my car to replaced the valve gaskets and now oil leaks out of the driver side valve cover screw.

Ok so it's a Rochester carburetor part number 7009200, the video I watched said if the tag is not there then they stamped the last 4 digits on the top corner of the carb. The guy said add 700 in front of the 4 digits and that's the part number

There is a number on top of the carb in the corner and it's 9200 and another stamped into the bottom piece and that is 9124

No one was born knowing the difference between Carter and Rochester; no problem, we all have to learn (if we are interested).
Check this page from my website:
Rochester 4-Jet identification
If the tag is missing (probable) and there is no stamped number of the airhorn: reassemble the carburetor castings without screws, and post 5 pictures, top and all 4 sides showing linkage. May be able to identify it close enough to build you a kit.
Oh, and disregard the listed charge; that keeps me from getting 100 emails a day from the scrap-yard scrounges!
Jon.
Ok I have the pics you requested

Ok I will have to wait until Monday as the carb is in the trunk and the car is in the shop. Thank you for the great info

Sorry he was not sure if it was a carter or Rochester, I am the one who said Carter. I am new to old cars and not much of a mechanic, where would I find the ID number

That is what was on there when I bought the car

I bought my 55 Buick century sedan a few weeks ago and to get the engine to run we had to pour gas down the carb, the engine starts but will not drive it will stall. Got the car in the shop and my machine says that the carb is carter carburetor 9124 and we are having a hard time finding the Accelerator plunger. My question is where can I find or does anyone know where I can get an original wcfb 2197s carburetor.

Ok thank you

I just picked up a 1955 Buick century 4 door Sedan and was wondering if the tires on it are the right size, the front tires seem to rub on the wheel well.

Thank you guys for the welcome, first thing I need to do is rebuild the carb and get her running right.
