Hi, thanks for the info. You mentioned that the person you use can re-produce the floor board plate (steering column jacket or seal), could you forward his name and phone number? I would like to contact him about making one for me. My seal is very brittle and is in three broken pieces, un-repairable. Please let me know. Thanks, Jim.

Okay, keep me posted if you don't mind. Good luck with it.

Jimmy,
I have been looking for the steering column floor plate for my car also. Steele Rubber sell one, but the plate for the '40 Super does not look right at all. They list it as a plate for the 40, 50 series (different bodies). I have given up and will try create one myself.
Mike
Hi Mike:
Good luck on making one. Let me how it turns out.. I can't even find a used one. My is so brittle that it broke in three places and is in-repairable.

Back in the mid 90's, Steel Rubber did make it and I did get one from them. Now I'm almost done with a frame off restoration and I can't find one. Should of brought two. Regards, Jim

The black dot at the beginning of a topic means there are NEW posts in the topic that you haven't read.
If you see a black star at the beginning of a topic it means there are NEW posts in a topic that you have posted in previously.
Once you have read the topic the black dot and/or stars will be greyed out.
Below is an example. I have made posts in the topic with the black star. The black dots indicate topics I haven't read. Hope this helps!
How do you find the new posts (black dot or star) without having to search all the posts? Is there a way to put in keys words which would bring up posts related to the word? Thanks, Jim

Looking to buy the jack handle/lug wrench noted in the picture attachment. Years 1940 or 1941. Also looking for steering column jacket (new or used) for series 50, 1941 model 56C. This is the rubber jacket that slides over the steering column and is placed near the bottom of the cowl by the floor. Currently do not have a picture of this item.

Thanks for your reply. From my understanding, from the cowl forward, the Super is smaller than the Roadmaster. The front end of the Roadmaster is bigger. I have my old jacket, (it's broken in 3 pieces and very brittle) the hole for the steering column is much lower to the center of the jacket vs. the one for the Roadmaster, which the cut out hole is closer to the top of the jacket. If the Roadmaster jacket is used on the Super, the location of the hole (on the jacket) would make the bottom of the jacket to long and won't match up to the cowl opening. I looked at the pictures on Bob's site and they also mentioned that the series 60, 70 and 90 would not work with the series Super convertible, series 50. My old jacket is so bad that it can't be used so I will keep looking. If you any other ideas, please let me know. Thank You for your reply. Jim

No, that's for a series 60, 70 and 90. My car is a series 50. Different jacket. Thanks any ways. Jim

I looking for the jack handle/lug wrench for 1941 Buick jack set. I have all pieces except the small handle. I think it is 8 or 10 inches long. On one end, it has a 5/8 inch round hole. On the other end, is the lug wrench section.
Thanks,
Jim

I looking for the steering column jacket, new or used. The rubber piece at the bottom of fire wall by the floor. As far as I know, no one is reproducing these for the 50 series.
Thanks,
Jim

What do the black dots stand for in the beginning of the listing?

Looking for Jack Handle for 1941 Buick. Also called lug wrench. I believe it 's about 8 to 10" long. One end is round with a 5/8" hole and the other end is the lug wrench portion. It may be the same handle form 1940?
Thanks,
Jim

Sorry no I don't. It has a round end with a 5/8" hole in that end. The other end is the lug nut wrench portion. I think it's between 8 to 10" long. I believe 1940 Buicks Had the same wrench, not sure though.
Thanks,
Jim
