  1. I restored a 1955 Buick special with power brakes about two years ago.
I have never been able to get the brakes to work properly, its like towing a car with power brakes and the engine not running I can't figure out what's wrong.
It acts like there is no/very little initial braking power.  There should be good pedal feel when using average braking pressure, but it really takes some stomp to get the car to slow down enough to make a turn.  I am on the second mastery cylinder/booster combo with no change in feel.  Both have rebuild kits in them.
I've check every thing new brake shoe, wheel cylinders, power brake booster rebuild, brake lines, vacuum  check valve, with no luck. Wheel cylinder brake line pressure check 900psi when you first step on the pedal then drops 600psi.
If any one out there can help me please respond.
