Strongly recommend you replace your brake lines also. Mine corroded inside the frame going to rear brakes. Driving up to my shop, stepped on the brakes with single style master cylinder, line burst when I was about 4 or 5 Ft from the wall, did $3500 damage to car. Dual master, SS lines now.

Are the new style seals for 425 nail one or two piece? Trying to visualize how to do with engine in car. Do you do this with the transmission in our out of car? Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the responses. Mine not bad just embarrassing. Parked in a friends pristine garage one night after a 3 hour drive and it marked it's territory. Just a few drops but enough that his wife pointed it out to me.

Do you need to pull engine and crank to install later model seals mentioned above? Or can you just pull trans and install seal?

I also had mine re-cored with 4 core unit. I live in south Louisiana, hot, humid and ac a must. 180 degree thermostat, works fine at highway speeds and in heavy traffic. Also around 400 bucks.

Poor Manny 65, all he asked was how difficult it was to convert to disc. Next thing u know we are comparing ZO6 brakes to Buick drums. And for my non valuable contribution, anyone who thinks their 5000 or so pound Riv with drums can stop with a 3500 pound ZO6 Corvette with 12 inches of tire patch and 15in disc with carbon ceramic pads is living in denial.

I agree with Streetman. If I could go poof and turn my running nail into a LS with overdrive it would happen immediately. They run so good, great mileage, and dressed properly look great, and are fantastic engines with tremendous power potential.

I know exactly what you r talking about with the bumps, probably about 1 in intrusion into fender well from the rear quarter panel towards the trunk. However I have no idea why they are there, but I fell sure it is structurally related. Just replied because no one seems to not know they are there, or possibly they don't have them on their car. Mine is also a 64.

Seriously I have a set of Billet Specialties 17X8 wheels with good tires, hidden lug nuts, just removed from my 64 Riv. Additionally I just removed a complete factory air conditioner I no longer need. Asking $700 + actual shipping cost for wheels & tires.
A/C stuff, no idea what's it worth, maybe nothing but I'll take $200 for the pile plus shipping. Was working, removed to install a Vintage Air unit, to clean up under hood.

I'm actually surprised Buick put hidden wipers on in 71 considering the problems Chevrolet had with them three years earlier in 68 on the corvette. I guess they thought they could do it better.

About 5 years ago while driving my 67 big block El Camino down the freeway at about 70 on Hot Rod Power Tour my 3 groove pulley on the crank decided to come from all together to apart. No known reason. In fact my buddy and I were at that very moment discussing how well the trip had been going. Thanks to the help from a couple of other guys on Power Tour and a local hot rodder living on top of the closes hill in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee we were back on the road in less than two hours. You just never know, we had already logged about 500 miles that day catching up with Power Tour. But to answer your question, if I felt the car was in good mechanical condition, I would do it. In fact my 64 Riviera was driven from Idaho to Mississippi, then southwest Louisiana when purchased about 5 years ago.
