  1. The more that I drive this X-100, the more that I like it. It takes me back to my 20's, when I had my Turquoise one. Wish it had Buckets. Maybe? Here are some more pics. I think it looks fantastic, compared to when I bought it. Only original once!! It's a great driver!! Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement!!

Thanks for updating us on your progress, the X-100 looks absolutely wonderful.  It's gratifying to see a car that was reposted on the "For sale - Not Mine" Forum find an appreciative new owner.  Continued good luck and please keep us updated.

  3. Well, It's almost been a year that I purchased the X-100. I finally finished the outside(For now).I gave it  a Good clay barring, and an old skool wool pad on a 20 year old Black and Decker buffer.  Fresh pin stripes, and a new set of whitewalls. AND...I painted the deck in trim black, as original. I am quite pleased with the end result. Now to decide what to do about the paint. I think at least, I need to paint the hood, along with the tops of the fenders, and doors. I would like to keep it as original as possible, but I am just not a fan of the "Patina" look, as some are!  It's OK for now. Might do paintwork over the winter.

The A/C is now re-installed under the hood(all of the parts were in the trunk!). I will install the repaired condenser next week, and hopefully will have cold air?

    TO BE CONTINUED........

  4. Greetings all!!

I am making some slow progress on the Marauder. Some dents removed by my paintless dent guy. Gave the left side and half of the roof a good hard buffing. I added some pinstripes, and it actually looks pretty good. The original lacquer shined up nicely. Not perfect in anyway, but definitely presentable. They are only original once!!

  5. Steve,

Thanks SO much for posting. I have been looking for YEARS!!! My Aqua one had Buckets and a Console, along with Power windows. I paid $600.00 for it in 1976(I was 22). I've been missing it for many many years. Do I make this one, like that one. I don't really know...YET!!! I am going to get it home, and see what it's all about. BEST part, is NO RUST!! Thanks again for the post. It definitely found the right home!!!

  6. Al,

Mike(buick5563) is 100% correct on both counts. Skylarks were customized Small Body Convertibles(40/60/100). I believe that ALL of them started life as a "46C". I am well aware that the unnderbody should be primer. I just like it better this was, and am considering it "Over" restored. BCA Dinged me for Stainless Fuel lines from the pump to the carb. They are allegedly engine color. I just like them the way that they are!

    Thanks for your comment!!

    Kind regards

  7. Sadly, it's time to let the next custodian take over!!!

I have owned this rust free Skylark for almost 25 years. I purchased it in 1995 from a fellow whose family owned it in Argentina!! It has been tediously restored over a 16 year period to exact authenticity, and was finished in 2011. Powder coated everything(except frame) to include the transmission, steering box, and steering pump cases, along with nuts and bolts!! Even the radio case and hardware have been powder coated. I wanted it to last forever. Wins wherever it goes. BCA gold Senior(399/400) in 2011. BCA Preservation(400/400) in 2012. AACA first JR.. in 2012. AACA Sr. in 2016. AACA Second Grand National in 2018. All documents, receipts and photographs, along with 2 different appraisals are included. Sure to please the most discriminating buyer. All interesting trades considered. 9. This is a very nice old Ford that appears to have been maintained/preserved for the last 80 years. Very solid with no rust or rot. I don't think it's ever been off the frame. Yes, its been painted and interior has been redone, but still a nice old open car that can be driven and enjoyed as is. Converted to 12 volts for reliability. Runs and drives Fantastic!! All serious and Reasonable offers  will be considered. Trades welcome! Steve 412.638.2647 cell.
