  1. As the story goes, the President of "Aurora" had a Riviera. Was a big fan of the car.

So he had his company make an H.O. slot car of it.

If you look at the colors offered in that slot car, they should look familiar to you.

Aurora purchased the excess plastic pellets from the Phone company, near their Brooklyn, New York facility, that made Rotary phones.

So the cars had the same range of colors as the of phones offered in the 1960's.

    Now you know. ;)

(BTW:  Pat Curran did a post on this forum about these back in November, 2022. )

  2. Further to your post...being from the Detroit area, there's lots of history about this car at shows and venues.

Since the Summer of 2005, Pasteiner's AutoZone Hobbies on famous Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, Mi has held a Saturday morning car gathering called "Parking at Pasteiner's". Coffee, homemade baked goods and great people and cars...some from the industry (Designers / Stylists...old and new) with great historical knowledge on the origins of many cars...like the Silver Arrow series. The store's owner, Steve Pasteiner, use to head-up Buick's Exterior Studio. (Google it and you'll see the depth and breath of hardware that's been showing up.)

Years ago I brought my '63 Riviera to the event. A guy, a bit older than myself, and I got to talking about the Riviera and He told me he was part of the circle of people involved with the car in its early days.

A great antidote about the car was the "Ash Tray". When it was driven folks that didn't smoke would put spare change in it and then close the lid...only to find that when they reopened it, the change was gone.  Reason was the Ash Tray was designed to "dump" the ashes on the ground once closed. Thus their money was gone.

I was part of the Vehicle Selection Committee for '13 Eyes on Design Show.

Here's some pics I took of the Silver Arrow.

    Enjoy....

  3. I've had these three '63 Owners Guides for a while.

Each still have the "Owner and Selling Dealer Identification" section page intact....and they're completed / filled-out.

May be worth checking to see if your VIN matches one of the three listed here.

Be great if these were "reunited" with the correct vehicle.

    See photos.

Let me know if you've any questions.

    Cheers - Mark

Hi Ed, Rims came with the car when I bought it.

Like you I have only seen 6" rims.

Here is an example of how important stance is. Photo of 1965 Wildcat as per the marketing folks at Buick.

I don't think this is the height that the car came out of the factory.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Question: How did that young lady get to sit on top of that fence?

Heck....that's nothing compared to the famous Chevrolet 1964 Ad with the car and lady on top of "Castle Rock". ;)
