Has anyone had any success at stopping a rear main seal leak in a 40's 6 cylinder Olds.

Anyone install an oil filter on a 1940's 6cylinder? If so what port did you plug it into; also, did you notice a change in oil pressure? Mine is a 1941 Olds.

I know that on the oil pump side of the block an oil galley runs the length of the block and a pipe plug at each cylinder.

My concern is starving one of the main bearings.

Has anyone here installed an oil filter on a 1940's engine? If so how good of a job is it doing filtering the oil.

I have a 6cyl, what plug did you remove to send oil to the filter?

Did you see a drop in oil pressure?

I believe they wiil. If you will measure the distance between the right to left bracket bolt holes and send them to me I'll check it for you.

Looking for 1940's 6 cylinder bronze thrust plates. These plates go on the crank shaft on both sides of the #1 main bearing.

Anyone have a problem separating 1941 Olds hydramatic from the engine? I've put extream pressure on the bell housing with the pusher bolts but to no avail. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

Looking for information; the 1941 olds 6cyl with hydramatic no longer uses the spring and plunger method to control the end thrust. it uses a thrust plate. Does anyone know what the end thrust limits are? I have .020 and think it should be less.Thanks
