Start area for the Oct 15,1910 pushcart derby race in Elgin Illinois.

Note each car has two members as crew. One driver and one pusher. The race was held down and up hills and around corners in a street course. The race was held in honor of the Elgin National Road Race. The first race was Oct 15,1910.A trophy was awarded by the Chief of Police to the lucky winner.
