The 'Astro-Gnome" 1956 Concept Car
Built for the 1956 New York Auto Show on a Nash Metropolitan chassis and designed by Richard Arbib - the body is all aluminum. The top was from a helicopter, and is made of Lexan. This car has been beautifully and meticulously restored and can be seen at the Metropolitan Pit Stop in North Hollywood CA. The futuristic dash features a huge, globe-shaped Hamilton clock. With the deeply inset wheels, the car looks like it's hovering above the ground!
