Guest
Tonight I was setting my parking brake and it sounded like the brake cable snapped and immediately there was no resistance in the parking brake. Any estimate as to how much this should cost to fix? I assume this was the cable, but maybe there are other parts that could have broke. Thanks in advance for any help! Guest
the cable is clearly visible directly underneath the car. mine snapped at the little "turnbuckle" on the cable, and they welded it back together for twenty dollars.
Guest
Hi I have ordered a cable that is adjustable, cost around $60 Canadian.
If it is any consolation, on my 1991 Riviera, the cable had come off where the Parking brake leaver is, just above the ALDL socket, perhaps yours may have come off, this happened due to slight slack in the cable, though very easy to fix it.
Good luck.
