Guest
MY 89 HAS A NEW THERMOSTAT AND THE RADIATOR HAS JUST BEEN FLUSHED AND FILLED. THE MECHANIC ALSO BLEW OUT SOME DEBRIS FROM THE RADIATOR. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN 90 DEGREE TEMPS THE OTHER DAY, MY TEMP GAGE TOPED OUT AT 228 DEGREES. HOW HOT WILL IT GET BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS. ANY INFO WILL BE APPRECIATED. P.S. THE A/C WAS ON FULL BLAST ALSO.
Guest
If all the 89s are the same, I think it will read digital up to 240, then the read-out changes to the word HOT. At least that is the way my 89 did when one of the fans stopped working in Atlanta traffic on a 95 degree day. I stopped immediately and let it cool. As traffic cleared I was able to start again but at normal speeds. It dropped down to just over 200 even with the one fan not working.
