Dave -1950
I have a 1950 Desoto 2- Door (S-14). I need to remove the long chrome trim piece on the rocker panel. How do you get this off without ruining the trim piece or the paint. It is held by clips but I cannot figure out how to get them off. My manuals and parts books are no help. rootesman
Dave, My 1954 Chrysler rocker trim is removed from the clips by prying down and out on the bottom of the trim with a putty knife. Re-installation is accomplished by hanging the trim on the top of the clips and springing it down over the clips where it snaps into place at the bottom. Be sure to look for any bolts at the front of the trim behind the rocker panel and behind the front fender. Good Luck,
Dave -1950
Rootsman , Thanks for the information. Your suggestion looks correct for my car . There are no obvious bolts holding the clips on the car and from what I can see the trim does fit on the clips via two channels on the top and bottom of the trim piece .
