Guest
I am in need of a new fuel pump or repair kit for a 1931 Chrysler CM. If I could find some coated fabric material from which I could make a diaphragm for my current pump, it would be very helpful. Any thoughts any of you may have will be appreciated. Guest Albert
Check Hemmings (and E-bay)there is a company there that makes new diapharms that will not go to pieces with the new gas, as alchol disolves the coatings used on the originals.
Guest
I replaced the diaphragm on my 1930 Pontiac with a piece of leather once and it lasted nearly ten years (over 120,000 miles). The next time I bought a slant 6 pump and took the valves and diaphragm out of it and they fitted perfectly in my original AC pump. This repair has lasted me 17 years and over 200,000 miles. There is always more than one way to skin a cat.Happy hobbying
