I am looking for advise for my brother. He has many parts for a 47 2door convertible Buick roadmaster, rebuilt short block, fenders, hood, trunk, interior.... Everything is except the stripped chassis and body tub. Many years ago the chassis/tub was sent out for work and was lost thru a range of odd circumstances. He is now considering buying a donor car and restoring. The question is the donor he is considering is a 48 roadmaster and I know there are some differences as have mentioned in other posts. I also understand that the 48 is 1/2" longer than the 47 and I am not sure what that is attributed to? Does it makes sense to try to restore considering the combination of these years? If so should he build as 47 or 48? Should he search for the 47 or even a 46? He is also condering selling all his parts if nothing else else seems to come together. We appreciate any advise and guidience.
