Found this with a tag that said "Old Car Mirror." Picture shows the front and back. It's 8 inches wide by 4 inches, not counting the mounting clips at the top. The backing is metal (aluminum?) and marked Made in the U.S.A. / See Rite. Anyone know the age and use and what type of vehicle it might have been on?

These were labeled "Antique Car Parts" when I bought them. Any ideas what they actually are? About 18 inches long with remnants of red paint. Ornate "tail" at one end and semi-circle shape at the other end with fixed screws that stick out slightly. Two mounting holes, but it beats me which way is up and how these were used. Any help appreciated.
