Guest BCA42496
Can anyone tell me the top speed of the 1950 Buick Roadmaster with a Dynaflow transmision? My Buick will go 75 mph but anything over 55 mph for a prolonged time (20 minutes)it starts to have a jump in the water temp. to the point of borderline overheating. The faster I go the faster the water temp. jumps up. Is this normal or do I have a rear end that is not geared too good for freeway driving possibly. Would the Dynaflow transmision be causing any of the problem? Thank you for any help, Kirk Huffman
Pete Phillips
The Roadmaster should be able to do at least 90 mph, though I question the need for such speed in a 57-year-old car. The likely culprit is a partially clogged radiator or a thermostat that isn't opening all the way. The transmission will be sluggish if the transmission fluid is allowed to get really low.Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
Aaron65
I second that...clogged radiator...also, check your timing and fuel mixture...
