I have been a fan of Reattas for years. They have always been a head turner. Well several years ago I found out that a customer of mine had a beautiful Maui blue '90 coupe. The original owner was a Buick dealership owner who died shortly after getting it. His family kept it in storage for about 8 years and finally sold it to a close friend of the family. That lady gave it to her daughter about 9 years ago and she has taken very good care of it. It has been garaged all its life and has 71k very easy miles. It looks and drives fantastic. The cassette stereo sounds great and the only signs of wear are a seam coming apart on the drivers seat and a worn drivers side sun visor. The paint is slightly faded but still looks very good. The carpeting is perfect and theres not a ding anywhere inside or out other than very minor wear marks. Its a year older than my corvette but in much better condition. Plus its obvious the whole car had much better quality control throughout the assembly process. One thing I particularly noticed is that the weather stripping is perfect yet is falling apart on my '91 corvette. Honestly I couldnt be happier. I can already tell I will love this car.

It's interesting to watch the looks I get from people. Ive already had a couple WOW's! from people I assume recognize what it is and a few others stop and look obviously wondering what the heck it is. Im a car guy from way back. My last fun car before the vette was a '72 El Camino I restored. The only regrets I have are that it is not a convertible and that they didnt offer them with a manual transmission option. A 5 speed would have been *perfect* for best utilizing the 3800. The factory cd player would have been nice but I realize they werent that common in '90. I can always get the cassette adapter for my iPod. I like the site and hope I can become a contributing member.

I see you have Washington plates on the car. The Buick Club of America normally holds their National meets centrally located but this year the national meet is in Seattle July 25-28. Maybe we will see you there. Looks like a very nice car.

Ok I just took a pic of it. I got to looking and also found the maintenance records going back to the early '90's.

Now this just sucks. I was at a supermarket last nite and was even parked way out away from other cars and someone hit the drivers side rear fender while I was inside. Not real bad but they bent it enough right at the top of the wheelwell to peel the paint off. And of course they didnt stay or leave a note or anything :-(

Some people just suck.

Wow, thats a very decent offer, I appreciate it. I have a friend in the auto body biz that says he can pop out the dent by the gas cap door and sand and touch up the paint on the wheelwell lip so it wont show. Ill give that a shot first before any "major surgery" of fender replacement.

Like I said above I have always liked the looks of the Reatta but I never really thought I would get one of my own. The last one I saw was at a Wal Mart parking lot a couple months ago and sadly enough it was very ragged out. My kids have said I am neglecting my corvette since getting the Reatta but I think thats just cuz it is new. I see the Reatta complimenting my vette as a fun to drive coupe that still has some serious panache and character all its own. The Reatta is nobodies "cookie cutter" designed car thats for sure. And until actually owning one myself I had no idea how much fun they are to drive.
