I am replacing the top on my convertable. Today I got the news that I would be charged an extra $100 plus express shipping because the Reatta top is "uncommon".

Does anyone know a supplier for factory type tops at a reasonable price?

Be aware when purchasing a new top that one of the major differences is the back window...or lack of one.

A few years back I did some research into Reatta tops and found......

(A) some replacement tops do not have a back window, you or your installer must transfer the old factory window to the new top. Depending on the skills of the installer, this can be tricky, getting it sealed and making it look good.

(B) some replacement tops come with a plastic, non-heated back window.

© the only vendor (at the time) that made a top with a new, heated glass back window was Electron. Ask your installer for a price from them, they will probably be more expensive because of the above, but if you want it done properly, they may be your best choice.

I think the top is around 8 to 900.00.....labor will depend upon the shop and geographic area. Check out Electron on line for a closer price on the material, and call your local upholstery/top shop of choice for labor cost.
