Hi Jason,

One more question about that digital dash. My car has kilometers as the default setting. So every time I start the car it reverts back to kilometers. Is there a way to make miles the default setting? Thanks

Tom it shouldn't do that unless the car looses power. Are you disconnecting the battery?

Hi Jason,

No, I haven't touched the battery. I start the car, the dash comes up as kilometers, I switch to miles and drive off. After the engine has been turned off and then started again it comes up as kilometers. This car has a strange history--driven only 7,000 miles since 1984, only 57 miles since 1994. The second day I had the car, I had just had new tires installed and was driving home. The digital dash went blank for maybe ten seconds. Then it came back on reading kilometers. I had barely driven the car before then and hadn't even noticed if the numbers were in miles or kilometers. My guess is that when the dash went off and came back on it somehow made kilometers the default. Of course the owner's manual says nothing about this. I have the service manual on order and I am hoping that if you don't have an answer, it will. Thanks for your interest and help with this.

I've never heard of that. Maybe your DD is getting ready to go bad? Maybe your car was manufactured in Canada and that's why it defaults to metrics?

This digital dash is actually underwhelming and I can't see buyers rushing to order it in 1984. If it goes my inclination is to put in the regular analog dash. Has anyone made that conversion? Thanks
