Guest Mark Golding Posted May 17, 2007 Share Posted May 17, 2007 Hi All I'm working on a 40 La Salle and I am looking to replace the gears in the transmission, and I have a 37 transmission as a spare can the gears from the 37 fit the case of the 40. 37 is a floor shifter and the 40 is a column shift. I have 38 side shift gears. 37 cases were updated occassionally to 38 gears as the 38 and up gears are better. The 37 cases had to be machined when this was done. I am looking for 1937 shift forks and shafts for my 37 topload as mine are missing.
