TRog
We need some help here please. We have referred to the service manual but, what they say is to remove the bracket. Basically, no detail on how to remove it as far as we can tell. We are past the point of getting the console cover removed, however, the two torx screws that are holding the CD player black bracket to the car can't be loosened from the front side as far as we can tell. Has anybody successfully removed a CD player that would be willing to post a solution here for all who might me interested in the future? Thanks in advance <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />!!P.S. We saw this link below, it was helpful only to a point.http://forums.aaca.org/showflat.php?Cat=...p;amp;PHPSESSID
Jim
You need to remove the whole knee bolster panel. The Panel below the steering column and it goes over and fits around the CD. Remove the trim around the IPC/radio/ecc and that will expose the top screws. Under the dash under the steering column you will see the screws for the bottom of that panel. NCReatta
What is the CD Player Model Number for the 1990 Reatta ?Is special bracet required to mount it ?Do the electrical wires / connections already exist in the 1990 Reatta ?There is a special bracket found only in '90-'93 Rivieras, and '90-'91 Reattas. If your '90 didn't come with the CD player originally, you will need the wiring harness too. I have core upgrade kits (with player, wiring harness, bracket, and bezel) available if you're interested.
padgett
The radio is easy, why they made the CD-Player such a royal pain, I do not know. Can say you have to be very careful to avoid breaking things.
