nooshinjohn
Hello again!I am at a complete loss as to how to go about eliminating the gremlin that keeps banging awayinside my right rear wheel well. I still get a knocking sound from back there regardless of enginespeed or whether or not the car is in motion. I know somebody must have had this issue with their cars and am curious as to what the solution is. Any help would be greatly appreciatedJohn
Bill Stoneberg
Have you checked the radius rod bushings ? Mine bangs at the moment and I have narrowed it down to this.
nooshinjohn
The entire suspension front and rear are new. The noise seems to be related to the forces of the mechanical fuel pump drawing fuel from the tank. I have placed my figers on the fuel lines at the rear and every time I get tha knocking sound I can feel a pulsation in the metal lines at the forward corner of the right rear wheel well.John <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Mr Riviera
Check back issues of the Review - this has been covered more times then I care to remember. I think you need to drop the fuel tank (inspect/replace hoses )and prevent hoses from hitting the floor pan ??? Check past issues or someone may remember better then I. Jim Cannon
John-If it really bothers you, you can disconnect the vapor return line on your Riviera. That is where the noise comes from. Instead of using a fuel filter with the 3rd nipple, get one that is for a non-A/C car. Plug off the end of the unused vapor return line, don't just leave it open.
