Guest
A month ago I bought my 89 Reatta. There were about 20 things wrong with it, but nothing too major. Anyway, I've got one left to fix. My driver door "door ajar" switch is broken. I've got the door panel off and found that the little plastic mounting arm has broken off. I can't see very well or get at it to put in the new one. I don't see a good way to get at it. Has anyone done this? Any advise on how to get at this area. I have a new switch, the old one is just hanging below the lock. I can,t see well enough to tell where the switch mounts.
Don B.
Dan, I've looked thru my '88 manual and
can't find a reference to the switch.
I tried playing with my door and from the
way it acts I would say that there is
a switch in the latch. When the latch
pin is in place the switch is activated.
Guest
I've found the switch and it does fasten somewhere on the latch. The biggest problem is that I can hardly see in and my hands are not that small. I can't figure out a way to get at the latch.
Guest
I did it a couple of years ago on my 91. It takes patience and time (and possibly small fingers and a 90 degree screwdriver) but it can be done.
