tnheygirl
This may be a very stupid question but I have always driven in overdrive not the drive position in all my cars. I was told there was no reason not to and that it would save on gas consumption although there would be less start off power. Well tell me your thoughts. Guest
The car won't go into Overdrive (fourth gear) until 45 MPH. So leaving the gear selector in OD will still allow first, second, third, and OD fourth gear operation. Nothing will be sacrificed in starting and accelerating by leaving the transmission in OD.
When decending a hill, additional engine braking may be obtained by selecting Drive (3) or Low (2) or Low (1).
And there is no such thing as a stupid question.
