Hello my name is Thomas and I am posting from Vienna, Austria, so please excuse my english. Last week I found a car in a workshop. The owner want zu sell it but he have no papers or any information about this car. I think it is a Chriysler Six 1927? and before I think about to buy this car I must know are pats available for this type, because a lot of things are missing or broken. So please help to bring this car back to the street.

Best regards Thomas Soyka, Vienna, Austria

Hi Thomas. The car looks to be a Chrysler 72, and well worth the effort of restoring. With regards to parts, it's really a case of keeping your eye on ebay, taking out the odd copy of Hemmings, and trawling the internet. The wheels look to be wrong - mine runs on wooden wheels with detachable rims.

Good luck!

Hallo Thomas and Jonathan, sorry I have taken a while to add my comments.

Car is definitely worth saving, I wish mine had been that complete.

However, looking at the picture I see it has shackles on the front springs. All the 70 series cars had the rubber blocks in a fairly large housing at the ends of the springs. This suggests it is probably a 62.

If you can get the engine No and/or the FEDCO number I may be able to identify it from the standard catalogue of Chryslers.

The FEDCO number will probably be on a plate on the top middle of the dashcoard. If you look careful along the top and bottm of the plate there will bee 3 letters 3 numbers and another letter, mine is CCC362P. This is an American numbering system and may not be on your car if it was manufactured in the states. The engine number is on a the left hand side of the block at the front just above the water jacket cover. It can be quite faintly stamped into the metal.

Whatever happens I hope you gat and enjoy the car.

good luck Bill Stiles

P.S. Almost forgot. I believe the disc wheels were an option

Hi 28CHRYSLER72 , what do you make of the FEDCO laminated badge being mounted on the front left side of chassis, facing outwards, on a 106" wheel base 4 cyl.
