where can I get new upper and lower radiator hoses? Do they come with thermostats or do you wedge one in? This cat I just bought has been sitting and the thermostats are corroded. One thermostat is cocked sideways in the hose.

You can buy new, repo hoses and thremostats from Earle Brown ( Sources). However, you can make up your own hoses if authenticity isn't required. The hoses are all 1-3/4" straight section. The uppers are 11" long and the lowers are 8" long. You might try carefully removing the thermostats and check their operation in a pan of hot water before discarding them. The new ones are not cheap. Did you get the engine to turn over OK?

The thermostats look pretty bad and I do not want to trust them. I am in the process of removing the radiator to have it boiled out and checked, it needs a left water pump, the car came with 4 extra pumps and 2 seem good, I hape one is a left one, I also talked with Skip about rebuilding one. When the radiator is out, I will be able to turn the engine over by hand to check if it is stuck. The neighbor of the previous said the car was running 3 years ago but I do not want to slap in a battery and crank it over for obvious reasons.
