Bryans39 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I recently bought a 1939 Buick Century and would like to get a custom licence plate made for her. I live in Montana and would like the plate to be made the same as the original 1939 Montana tag, including (prison made) stamped on the bottom. Do's any one have an idea were I could get this done? I added an attachment to give an idea of what I would like.
Shop Rat Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Hi and welcome. There are several vendors of genuine antique license plates. Maybe someone here still has their Hershey catalogue of vendors and can help you with names, e-mails and phone numbers. You may also want to look on the internet in your state for folks that deal in themGood luck with your search. We have a 1939 Dodge and have a matched set of original plates for it from our state, West Virginia. If you plan to show at AACA shows the plate will need to be original, or a metal reproduction of an original, and not a plastic fake. It would cost you a point and that one point could keep you from getting the prize that otherwise the car would get.
Guest thug23 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Two common places to search are E-Bay and Drewski's Platestand.com ( you can also GOOGLE; Drew's License Plate.com)
