ccapriciouss Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 i need help identifying an old chrysler the serial number is 7037036 (from the front door hinge post)the engine is a flathead 8 C39-16913. also there is a manifold number 654783-3, and transmission 1118721-2. thank you for all your time and trouble
ccapriciouss Posted April 3, 2007 Author Posted April 3, 2007 okay, that was embarrassing, but I don't have a photo of the car...I have narrowed it down to a 46 or 47 chrysler either a Saratoga, Town and Country, or New Yorker, (based on the C39), but my boyfriend insists that it is a Highlander, "that's the only name it has any where on or in the car". He dug this car up out of a field that belonged to a friend of his, who told him that the car had been there around 60 years...So, when we say he just dug it up somewhere, it's true!! He-he!! ^_- Anyways the next question I am going to post is, is there such a thing as a car that is a 46-47 Chrysler Highlander, with Highlander as the model, solely. Yes, it has the Highlander plaid...
ccapriciouss Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 We identified the car, through the serial numbers on the front door hinge post- (7037036) It's a 1946 Chrysler New Yorker Highlander. Thanx to every one who read this & wanted to help! ^_- From: CcapriciousS
Guest De Soto Frank Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 "Highlander" referred to an interior trim & upholstery package, featuring Scotch plaid seat covers and door panels ( thus, "Highlander").The Highlander option was offered on the six-cylinder Windsor series (C-38) and eight cylinder New Yorker (C-39).They're pretty stunning when all fixed-up.I have a '48 C-39 New Yorker ( plain solid blue seats)... I looked at a '41 New Yorker sedan with the Highlander interior several years back, but could never seem to hook-up with the seller... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
