DaveBerg Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I would like to purchase a 1946 or so Packard Taxi Cab. Preferably a car that is decent to look out and mechanically reliable or even a restored car would be fine. Nice clean, quick, and easy deal if you have the right car. Contact davbergltd@aol.com Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Jay Wolf Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 There was a nice one at the AACA national show at Metropolis in 2004. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Photo 4 I like the opening rear window. The name of the owner would be in the AACA program.
Guest bkazmer Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 or you can reach him via Packard Club - this is the only one I've seen, and he comes to a number of mid western meets
DaveBerg Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Thanks very much to both of you for your responses. That is indeed a nice car. I am familiar with it and have tried to purchase it in the fairly recent past. Unfortunately for me the owner is still enjoying it and it is not for sale. I dont blame him. I wouldnt sell it either. I told him to figure out what he thought it was worth, then multiply that by 1.5 and tell me the number. Even that didnt work! thanks again guys, I appreciate the attempt. We'll just keep looking.
Jay Wolf Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 This look like a good candidate for taxi clone.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PACKARD-1...emZ280103554850
DaveBerg Posted April 29, 2007 Author Posted April 29, 2007 Thanks for your message. when I saw that one on ebay I must admit I did get excited. It was the correct color from what I could tell. However I do want an authentic one so I guess I will wait a bit longer. Thanks again though.dave
