Trailer Guys, I Salute You

Recommended Posts

I just got back from picking up a 1960 Cadillac for a work project. I drove just under 600 miles with a Chevy 1500 pickup and a car hauler. Before y'all jump on me for driving an underpowered rig...

A.) It's a company truck.

B.) I'm pretty sure no matter what Ford claims about it's product, my Mazda B4000 will NOT pull 7500 lbs.

I know several of you guys go on trips with half ton pickups, my hat is hereby off to you gentlemen.

During any kind of driving in traffic or near bridge guardrails, my knuckles were whiter than when my steering box needed rebuilt on my 55 and I was driving that on bias ply tires.

The truck wasn't actually necessarily underpowered as much as severely "under suspensioned."

BTW, my wife is currently jokingly refering to this as the Buick Fourum, since she always just hears about me talking about

And I quote " Bill Stoneberg, Willie, Willis, and some guy named Lamar."

See ya, gotta sleep,

Mike

Mike, Does that mean your are going to drive your 55 to Seattle instead of hauling it ?

Why dont you find a car with a bigger back end to make a couch out of ? I know thats what your doing with the Caddy. You just want to reecreate the old days

Oh, and I guess I'm going to have to start mentioning Thriller, although the Buick Fivem doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?

Well, you could just let me remain outside of your wife's consciousness...she'd have enough trouble if she got the foursome together in one place anyway

The kids have spring break this week, so I took the week off work...I'm bored...it's raining, so I can't easily go ice fishing...sigh. There don't seem to be as many posts in a day when one is checking in every hour or so

Mike all you need is that little box under the dash. I onced pulled a home made trl with a buick skylark minus the motor and tranny. Coming down hill it pushed me all over the road 4 lanes not wide enough. Thats with my silverado. Put that box on and pull anything I can move no heart attack. I da. bos

Dear Buick 5563:

Yeah, you and I are relative "newbies" at only about 350 posts each. It'll be awhile before we get to be "Forum Fanatics' at 2500 posts. Bill, Willis, Willie and Lamar are definitely ahead. (And always worth reading !!)

Regards, Dave Corbin
