Guest AlK
I was at a car show this past saturday and got into a discussion with a young man who stated he has a 1955/56Ford Fairlane-Thunderbird. I asked which one because I was firmly convinced that such an animal of that sort did not exist. He claimed the there was a script on the car that was the Ford t-bird and the wording underneathwas "Fairlane Thunderbird". Anybody have specific first hand knowledge of this beast. I for one have never heard of it before now, but that and $1.25 will get you a cup of coffee.
Jay Wolf
I know Ford did make some Show Birds (preproduction) with Fairlane headlight doors and side trim.I have read no production cars came from the factory that way.But some say they did.I know people have added the trim maybe they added to script too.I have never heard of any with fairlane script. Guest AlK
No I think it is the otherway around based on the guys description. These are not t-birds with fairlane scripts, these are fairlanes with some form of modified t-bird script.thank you
Guest boblove
What he may have been referring to was the fender emblem found on 55-56 Fairlanes with the Thunderbird engine option.
