Sacredone Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Where would the vin number be on a 1928 Dodge 5 window Buiness coupe?Trying to find out what for model I have...it pretty well stripped..just a shell minus the hood.. can anyone help?
Paul Bohlig Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 If you have an engine in the car, the VIN is stamped on the block on the passenger side just below the head and forward of the intake manifold, carburetor. Also, a body number is on a plate inside the car on the passenger side on the wood toe board. Usually these two numbers are within a couple hundred or so since one is the engine and the other the body. Believe there should be number on the frame on the passenger side near the door. May need to scrap and use light to detect numbers after years of rust.Paul
Jan Arnett Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 They didn't have Vin numbers in 1928. They came much later when the feds steped in. What you are looking for is frame number and engine number.
