GMPARTSMAN Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I need some suggestions for a replacement exhaust system for a 64 Buick Electra convertible with single exhaust. Stanless steel is overkill for this car, regular steel is just fine. The last kit I bought was a great disappointment. (News flash, 55 and 56 Buick exhaust systems DO NOT interchange.)
Guest imported_Thriller Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 If it comes to it, your local Midas (or whatever flavour) shop should have the specs and can bend it up for you. The local one had the '66 Wildcat on microfiche, I think (or perhaps even more modern), and they were able to do a decent job.
GMPARTSMAN Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 I am attempting to keep as much labor "in house" at the dealership. Workload has been down for our techs the last few months, and if I can generate some labor dollars for our techs, all the better. This is a resto for our dealer principal, and I have have been delegated to coordinate the project, along with everything else that I do.
Smartin Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Try these guys...I bought some oversize 2 1/2" tailpipes for my Centurion, and they looked great. He says he has original stuff to replicate...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1953-74-B...emZ260041239177
Guest imported_Thriller Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 That's cool. Even then, a local shop may bend the pipes for you and supply them.
