FrankonMemoryLn Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi! I have a white hardtop Reatta that I have owned for about ten years. Paint is in poor condition and interior is fair to good. The car has 180,000 molies on it and still runs perfectly. The problem is all the other things like power antenna always breaking, left side fog lamp (white, rectangular) always burning out, brakes always pulsing--starts about 500 miles after a complete rebuild --rotors, calipers and pads), and now wife and daughter broke the windshield--$1400 to replace around here (Southeastern Pa.). I put a minimum of $500 into it each year, just to pass inspection. Because of the windshield it will not pass inspection and I do not want to spend that kind of money on it yet so I am going to stop using it. My questions are: What range of values is it worth now, and restored probably $5,000 to have done) what range of values would it have. In other words, from an economic viewpoint, does it make sense to restore it? Or, should I just try to sell it to some enthusiast?
Guest Ranger Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Frank,Someone here should be able to help you on the brakes.Re: the windshield, check eBay 220073942673, it's in Kentucky, maybe someone on this forum could take a look at it.
Barney Eaton Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Unless it has some sentimental value, take your 4-5K and buy a lower mileage car. You can find 100k cars in the $3,000-5,000 range depending on overall condition. For another couple thousand you might get a 60K car.Keep the old one for parts or sell parts on Ebay. At this point the car is worth more in parts than as a whole car.
