Guest Gee_Rydes
Hello again, Can anyone answer this question about the deck lid "Riviera" emblem on a 1965 Riv?The one I pulled off does not have round pegs that would be held on with a nut, rather it had slots that looked like they should be bent once installed. Also, and probably more important at this time, are the emblems on the fenders the same as the deck lid? They look the same. Some resto parts houses list the 65-67 deck lid emblems as the same, but not necessarliy the same as the fender emblems. Thanks again,Dave
Rivman
The trunk emblems on my '65 are slotted also, the fender emblems have pins. There is a special clip to hold on the trunk emblem, don't bend them over. I'm not real sure about availability of the clips though.
gungeey
Hi Gee,Different parts. Your spades will snap if you bend them.. They call for plastic clips from the rear, but you can also use the appropriately sized vacuum hose as a light "press fit" retainer in a pinch. Have fun, Steve
Guest imported_kbm
If the 64 emblem is the same as the 65 then the parts are different. The loop of the 64 R on the fender has a gap between it and the upright line. The trunk emblem is connected. I have noticed fender emblems for sale on ebay that are connected that i feel are trunk emblems.Hope that makes sense!Kenneth

Mr Riviera
Notice the R - the emblem alone is the trunk emblem - emblem with gs is the fender
1969RivieraGS
That trunk emblem is totally different than the fender emblems, aside from the "R" being different, so is the "A" and a couple of other points. The fender emblem is probably a tad smaller too, right?
Mr Riviera
Different part number and mounting is not the same in most cases but the R is the easy way to pick it out from 20 feet away. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
