1953 olds

Trying to find the VIN # on a 1953 olds. I found a # on the drivers door piller but it is only 8 didgits. I was also told there is a # on the frame. Also found under hood tag that has style# body#, etc. Was told it is a rocket 88 but want to be sure. I need a vin# cause it as lost title and in TN you have to have power of attorney on the car to change anything. I want to be sure who own it. Any info on decoding would be great.

That number on the pillar is the VIN. They weren't very long in '53.

Yes the number is stamped on the frame. Top of the side rail, driver's side just under the front seat.
