Bill Stoneberg Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 There is still time to get your resume in to Mike and Nancy Book in our National Office to be a candidate for the Buick Club of America Board of Directors. We are looking for a few good men and women to lead us on into the 21st Century. What are the requirements?1. The ability to attend two meetings a year including the National Buick Meet.2. Good e-mail skills.3. A willingness to work with fellow BCA members for the good of the Buick Club.4. New and thought provoking ideas that will increase our membership in the Buick Club.5. The spirit of giving to be a force for positive change as we continue to move the BCA forward. If this sounds like fun, please one of the current Board members or Mike and Nancy Book for details of Board candidacy. The National Office email address is buickcluboffice@aol.com
Guest gecco Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I know I could probably just look it up in the Bugle, but since others may be wondering as well, how long are terms? and what are other requirements, such as sitting on standing committees, etc? Where is the second meeting every year, if the first is at the location of the meet? What if someone is not necessarily a Buick "expert", but just a Buick lover? Is it expected that board members rotate through the officer positions? Are there regular conference calls or other communication for business?
Guest gecco Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Also, are costs for participating as a board member reimbursed or is a board member responsible for his own expenses to attend meetings?
Bill Stoneberg Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 Terms are 3 years long and you can be elected twice. Officers are elected by the Board members and you dont have to volunteer for one of these positions. There are no comittees that we server on, you work on a little of everything. There are times you can volunteer to do a task if you have expertise in that area. One meeting is at the Nationals, the second is at a location where we are invited. This year it is Nashville. We are reimbursed for your hotel rooms and airfare for about 4 - 500 dollars if I remember correctly. You dont have to be a Buick expert, you just have to like Buick's and want to help the club along. We communicate mainly by email with confrence calls as needed. But email is our main form of communication. If you have any other questions, call me or any other BOD members. We will be glad to answer any questions you have.
Mr Riviera Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 "We are reimbursed for your hotel rooms and airfare for about 4 - 500 dollars if I remember correctly." New Board Members are reimbursed up to 500 dollars for travel expense per trip. This was raised from 400 last year.
Guest gecco Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Bill, I sent you an email tonight, but it came back as "undeliverable".
Bill Stoneberg Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 Try bill.stoneberg@REMOVEME.sbcglobal.netRemove the REMOVEME from the above address.Bill
Guest gecco Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I sent to you again tonight. I had a completely different address that I had pulled from the BOD listing on the website. Thanks!
FireballV8 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 BillWhen is the deadline to apply? And what is needed other than a picture and a short Bio? What should be in the Bio?ThanksSteve
Mr Riviera Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Hi Steve, If you are interested please call the National Office and talk to Mike. He has all the answers and more !~ LOL Time is getting short. Thanks,
Guest gecco Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I spoke to Mike Book last week as I have also decided to run for the BOD. They need a 5x7 black and white photo and your bio by 02/20. Sounds like they have a number of interested people this year.
Guest buickapollo455 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 can the application be emailed with photo to BCA direct for application rather the snail mail?
Guest gecco Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I hope so - I emailed my bio to Mike Book, and was planning on emailing the photo as well (I am having it taken tomorrow).
Bill Stoneberg Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 I am sure an email with your bio and a hi definition photo (lots of DPI) will suffice. Dont forget that the picture is going into the Bugle, so it has to be suitable for printing. 72 dpi resolution wont work in print.
