NYBobP Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 [color:"blue"] I drove one of my Reattas to a neat restaurant in W. Palm Beach, FL Saturday night. I had it valet-parked, and the attendant asked me what kind of car it was. I told him "very rare". He parked it out front along side a Ferrari, Jag, Beamer and Bentley. All were pointing out. The riff-raff cars like Mustangs, Sebring converts, Caddies and premium rice-burners were all parked at the side lot. As fewer people know what Reattas are, the more attention they get...and its amazing how people guess at what it actually is before they see the back bumper, then get it wrong. Guest TommyH Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 when my alternator died the first time, the truck of high school, maybe college students, that were jump my reatta, the one guy was walking around it, saying,"Man, is this a Porche? or a Lambo?" on of the other guys said,"Dude!! that screen thing is awsome!! Is this one of those new 2007 cars? You know, the thing by GM?" i just kinda laughed, told him to look at the taillight, and he did. he was very supprisedm, and it made me proud that i fell in love with this beautiful automobile!! i almost consider it a part of my family. It feels good to stand out of the crowd. I have this philosophy about people in general:"The bigger the crowd the more people show up for it".People love to gather together in herds and do the same thing. Guest TommyH Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 well, ive always liked the car, and i havent seen it for 1-2 years, but from what i remember, and what i know about the person(one of my mom's favorite students/my baby sitter) itsin ok condition. they are also rare. but not in the sense that the reatta is. they made a lot, but many were crushed after a while, like the riviera.then all i need is is 3k for some parts, and a body kit. I was visiting my Son in Antibes, Fr a year ago November and we drove over to see how the "Other Half" lives. Guest Don123 Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 I have a 1989 Reatta, White coupe. It has actual miles of approximately 29,000 miles. Still in New condition. Had no problem ever with it. Kept serviced and it has been garagd and only driven mostly on weekends. Was driven in the rain for the first time since buying it new in February 0f 1990. In FL I'm in Ormond Beach, so was just visiting/playing golf down there for a few days. Remember, it was W. Palm, not Palm Beach. In Palm Beach you better have a Rolls or Lamborghini with a 50 dollar bill in your hand if you want to park at the front door at some of the upscale joints. That's out of my league. Heck, my car is 16 years old.
