69olds442 Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Can anyone recommend a good place to get bumpers rechromed?
Guest Randy Berger Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 If you go to Carlisle, look up Tricity plating. They have a lifetime guarantee. They did my front bumperhttp://www.tricityplating.com/
69olds442 Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 Thank you Randy. Were you happy with their work? I had them quote me a price already just trying to figure out who to use.
Guest imported_JPIndusi Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I have used Qual Krom, 814-899-8546 twice. Work on pot metal which is hard to workwith came back better than new. I had a blemish on one piece and sent it back, no problem.Very nice to deal with.Joe, BCA 33493
Guest Randy Berger Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Yes I was well satisfied. That lower front bumper is on my 400 which shows up on my avatar.
Tom M Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Try hereThe finishing touch. I have not personally used them but the shop that did some work on my car had and was very pleased with them. They recreated a Stutz Radiator Cap for a car he was working on. It saw the cap it looked good. They even had the patented/model dates on it.
DizzyDale Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I agree with Joe,my vote is for Qual Krom,Erie Pa..Bob and Patty Ore NO bull,NO lost parts, outstanding work for a FAIR price delivered on TIME.HOW do you beat that.diz
ex98thdrill Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Cambridge Chrome, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. The Canadians can process chrome with chemicals currently banned in the US. Once these get your chrome, they will call you up and give you a price. Once the chrome is done, they UPS it right to your door.
Guest imported_49packard Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Hanlon in Richmond Va did a good job-hanlonccp@cs.com-call and get a quote. A Packard expert/restorer recommended them. They advertise in Hemmings. For what its worth-I took the bumper into a ups store and they shipped it for about $30-no boxing etc
Bob Kinker Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I used Bumper Boyz for my 64 Plymouth Belvedere and they did a good job. This car is a driver, not a show car. When I get the bumpers done on my 64 Fury "Max Wedge" wannabe, I'll use Tri-City. I've heard no bad reports on them.
69olds442 Posted January 12, 2007 Author Posted January 12, 2007 Thanks everyone for all of your help. I will contact these people for estimates.
