Private messages

I have noticed the last few days since I have send and am expecting back several private messages, that that no longer works. Is it just me or is something wrong with the forum/computer?

I am not sure if it is working or not but I personally do not like the PM system and do not like to use it. When answering someone who PMs me there is no way for me to look back later to see my response. Not only that but if someone is in a hurry and for some reason I do not check this site, I then miss their messages maybe for several days.

I alway put in my post to mail me directly, I then have a record of what has been said.

The PM system works. If you check the appropriate boxes, you retain a copy of that you sent as well as a "read receipt" when the recipient opens it. The system will save all incoming and outgoing messages in perpetuity (or at least as long as I've been using this forum).

The only problem as far as I see it, is some people don't notice the tiny flashing envelope.
