voucher2001
I'm following the Brake thread with interest...but other than selling the car, which I really don't want to do, and who would buy it or, better yet, how could I sell it to someone knowing I MIGHT give them a timebomb, or retrofiting another system, which probably will prohibitively expense...Hell! I need some reassurance!!! What is everone else thinking now? By the way, I have plane tickets that I have not cancelled and have no fear of flying but this is something that is really praying on my mind. padgett
Prohibitive ? Depends. Just checked Autozone for the Fiero units and a power booster with master cyl came up at $143 (plus $36 core). With that unit would need a combination valve
(could not find but expect under $100) plus some tube bending and misc parts. Given that would expect my cost to be under $300.
Coupla hours junquing should provide good cores, pushrods/bushings, and maybe a good proportioning valve (might not need one, is to keep from locking rears anyway and Reatta already has one, it is just in the back. More research needed).
Would target dual m/c with front/rear split rather than diagonal to avoid sudden brake steer if only one front applies (from reports that is not fun and to avoid having to run another rear brake line).
Winter project (except we do not have winters here) but do not expect to be that expensive. May be surprised.
Folks, these are generic parts, nothing unusual, all made to SAE specs.
