With the new year just around the corner what are your goals for the new year? I should have the Henderson 4 powered midget rolling on new wheels & tires in two months, then the body fab work can start. Hope to have all the body parts for the '32 Vicky by mid summer. The 1912 T hasn't been out of the garage in 8 years, will 2007 be the year it sees daylight? Happy New Year! Taking my 1929 Model A Ford Phaeton to the New Bern NC Meet for its first preservation award.

Taking my 1929 Model A Ford Phaeton to the Grand National in July.

And (thanks to my 8 year old daughter) make an effort to find a 1951 Hudson Hornet to buy & figure out how to afford it.... (She is a really big Doc Hudson fan!)

First year in many (10?) no automotive projects are scheduled. Freshening up the house as it has been 18 years. Not sure what is more expensive, cars or remodeling. Both are time consuming.

2007 We plan on attending the AACA Annual meeting, several tours, amphi swim in's, shows, etc. Would like to drive my stuff more time permitting. Hopefully within the next few months another Amphicar will be home as the deal was made a few months ago. Wife is happy with remodeled house and I am happy with another future project. So I've got 18 years to play with cars till I have to worry about the house the way I see it.

Need to finish building my garage. About 75% done now, goal is to be finished by May. Its tough when you work all day, drive home, run out and work in the cold,no heat yet, till about 10PM, eat, go to bed, get up, do it all again.

I enjoy doing the work, wish I had more free time to do it.

Attend my first National meeting in Philly

Finish (or at least have it driving safely) my 64 Plymouth Max Wedge wannabe by April to take it to Mopar Madness. Will want to make a few runs on the 1/4 mile strip also.

Replace or rebuild the engine in my Imperial, then off to the upholsterer, then paint. I miss not driving that tank!!!!

With two AACA National Tours within 100 miles in 2007, my primary goal is to focus on getting the 1923 Dodge tour ready and actually participating in one or both tours - Vintage in Frederick, MD in July; and Glidden in Gettysburg in September. Haven't run the car in four years so there will be quite a bit of maintenence so that it can go five days without problems. The 1964 Studebaker will have to wait its turn for 2008.

Hey Leadfoot, I understand that breakdowns on a Glidden is half the fun!

Those aren't breakdowns according to the late Glenn "Fritz" Howard who

enjoyed quite of few of the Glidden tours. He referred to them as "roadside seminars".

Our goal is to get to more of the shows this year and Bill is already back working on the 1963 1/2 Falcon Sprint convertible as our AACA show car. (It sure would be nice to have it done before we are both too old to bring it to shows.)

Hey Wayne -

While early Dodges were marketed as "Dependable Dodges" that was and is a bunch of hokum. And I don't consider roadside repairs trying to figure out if it's an electrical or fuel problem any fun. Just keeping it ready to run each day will be a task. Even the Owner's Manual has a list of lube and check points for every 200 miles. They're great to drive, but they are maintenence hogs!

Hey Lead, you're probably right about that.

I could add you should have bought a ...... ,

or a.... ...,

but I'm sure they were all pretty much alike in those days.

Really these touring guys love to show off their mechanical knowledge on the side of the road. Have fun on that one. I may join you at one of those tours, haven't made plans yet.

See me in Philly, we'll talk about it.

My goal is to install a new windshield header board (darn fisher bodies), then a new roof insert (3rd one in 47 years) and then I can install all my new door panels and the upholstery on the quarters and the back. If it turned out to be a good year maybe this is the year for repaint number 3. With any luck April 2008 will see me back in Manitoba at my highschools reunion. I will probably be the only alumni driving the same car as when he was a student 50 years prior.

Good luck to all of us on our Goals.
