The US and Australia made '33 Dodges that looked the same from 20 feet. The US produced 1563 convertable coupes ie. roll up door windows and lay flat windshields. Australia produced 2 additional bodies mfg by T.J.Richards that were not available in the US market. A roadster and a 4 door phaeton ie. door side curtains, the only glass was the front windshield. The US cars were of all metal construction and the Oz bodies were wood framed with tin tacked on. Close inspection reveals 100 differences in the detail between the US and Oz product. All '33 Dodge rag tops are very rare. There are only 3 or 4 listed in the DBC roster. Mechanicaly the US and Oz product are very close to being identical albeit the Oz product is mostly the 111" wheel base, the opposite of the US survivors. Jim Cook '33 DP technical advisor DBC

There is only one 1933 Dodge Roadster in the USA. It was built by Niles Thomas of Medford Oregon. http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=SC0512-124976

Here is an Australian version. http://www.vintagecarheritage.com/1933-dodge-six-roadster-%E2%80%93-rare-but-striking/

They had different dash and doors for the 33 Australian cars?

Bob,

Thanks for posting the two links for the 33,s. Very interesting and I'm learning more as I go along. A friend of mine has a 2 door 34 Plymouth roadster and he was told they didn't make any right hand drives of this model. when they saw it their jaws hit the ground. Again don't know how accurate the "didn't make any of them" is but I wish I knew half of what this guy does.

Both of the 1933 Dodge roadsters and the two 1934 Plymouth roadsters all with suicide doors were built in Australia. All appear to have the same body. here is another '33, also in Australia.

Un-informed and lacking the time to see if I have anything worthwhile posting.

One hassle after another with an engine assy I farmed out too someone else and I am having to go back and tear things down to try and correct the problems. ( without damaging months of hard work with body and paint )

Im a bodyman not a mechanic and the learning curve is killin me. Eating all my time.

Ill try to straighten up and fly right when I am thru this mess.
