cd player

I think the opening is 1.5 din, a double din stereo is too big. GM made a cross-platform 1.5 din AM/FM CD player that fits in the Firebird, Camaro, Buicks, etc. from around 1990 to around 1996, when the pushbuttons were updated. I found a really nice one on Ebay that was manufactured in 1994, it was brand new and sitting in a box all these years. It fits the opening perfectly and looks stock and uses the stock wire harness as well. Of course, it only takes CDs, but I don't miss the cassettes. Here's an example of a remanufactured one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1277217372

If you're not particular(as I am),then the Camaro/Firebird unit is the answer ! I wanted to keep my Reatta ALL ORIGINAL as possible,so I got a CD player and wiring harness from a '90 Riviera and it fit perfectly. To me that little glove box loss is not missed and my Reatta is still original but again,I'm particular !
grin.gif" border="0grin.gif" border="0grin.gif" border="0

My 89 has a 12 disc remote in the trunk resting on the trunk access panel. It has worked out very well expecially if you need to flop down the hatch to change any of the 12 out on a long trip.
Tony, MPLS MN, "REATTA1"
