Barney Eaton Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Although I worked for a computer company for 32 years, I know little about them.I know we have lots of smart people looking at this forum every day and some of you may know the answer to my problem.I cannot send a message to anyone with a "comcast" account. This only recently happened. I got a new computer in September and two different computer people worked on it get the new one going like the old one.... however this problem remains.Any suggestions?
Guest TommyH Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 what email cliant service or server are you using? do you have comcast? or can you not send to comcast members?
Barney Eaton Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 I use warpspeed......... I cannot send to comcast addresses
Guest TommyH Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 well ive never heard of warpspeed before, and has it never lt you sned to a comcast adress before? i have never heard of something like this before.
Guest CL_Reatta Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Is it possible that comcast is rejecting your e-mail address as spam? Ask the people that your sending to to turn off their spam filters while you send them a test e-mail, sometimes un-popular e-mail services show up as spam on filters
jonlabree Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Barney: If that e-mail program has a block address box, you may be blocking them.It should be in the options section. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
ikesleeping Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 What error message is coming up on your screen?
Guest TommyH Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 try using a different email client. go to yahoo and make an account.its not hard, and its free. i could send you a gmail invite, because gmail is currently the best email service out there. it makes it easy to switch services.i like it, aand have never had a problem with it. i agree to have your comcast people turn off thier spam filters. have them email you, to see if it works
DeeBee Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Try using the warpspeed web mail instead of an email client (like outlook express) on your PC. If you can't send to comcast from the warpspeed webmail, your ISP is being blocked or you email is going into their junk mail or spam box.Rather than trying to get things changed yourself (if you can't send to any comast email address) contact warpspeed ISP and have them contact Comcast. Since you are paying for service, let them do the heavy lifting for you, it is their responsibility. Here is one important thing to consider. Make absolutely sure you don't have a computer virus. Norton and McAfee let so many viruses through it isn't even funny anymore. If you have a virus that is trying to send itself out with your emails, many ISP will catch it and block it.You can download AVAST Anti-virus home edition and use that to scan your computer. You may be very surprised. It is free and one of the best anti-virus programs out there.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 May want to try housecall.trendmicro.com. Free online browser-based virus scanCould a firewall be block the email?
