Guest mongeonman Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 i have a 88 and i would like to know if theft deterent system was optionnal or was it standard equipment on my car.i looked at my car and it does not have the cylinder tamper switches.is their an easy way to know if the car has the system. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

It'll beep the horn like if you were to lock the doors electronically and then reach in, manually unlock the door, and open it.'90-91s have that AND a "PASSKEY" / VATS system with the ignition key needing a certain "chip" to work (actually a resistor)
