Guest TommyH Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 super nice tail light how can i make one of mine like this??!?!
Guest CL_Reatta Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Do a search for "tail light" older than 1 day, you will find lots of products
Guest F14CRAZY Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Visit your favorite auto parts store and get a bottle of Meguiar's Plastix and have at it. Thing is it only lasts for a little while before needing anothe rapplication. The dudes here say the Aeroshell stuff for airplane windows works best, however.
Guest Greg Ross Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 "B" "U" "I" "C" "K" Lettering is missing. It's been buffed definitely.Replaced the Lens on mine a few years ago when they were still available (actually don't tell anyone but I did that twice-last time was before taking Betsy Blue off to the 100th in Flint, in '03)I happen to have a very fresh one if anyone's interested. (just the Lens!)
Guest TommyH Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 i have, but this is something i havent been able to acheive. could it just be that i have iriversable damadge to the light because of palin old age? and that one have just been keept super nice?
Guest F14CRAZY Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 The theory is that cast plastic has a hard outer shell but this weathers off, and the soft plastic underneath easily dulls
Guest mongeonman Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 got my car a new paint this summer, the back light was very bad.they sanded it with number 1000 sand paper and clear coated it.it looks like new now.
Guest Kitskaboodle Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 A little on the steep side in my opinion.....($600?? too much!)I think this is the most practical formula:A) obtain "good condition" tail light from wrecked Reatta ($100 average price) take it completely apart except for the mounting studsC) clean all pieces with soap, water, cotton rag and a paint brush (for hard to reach spots)D) polish outer clear lens (Novus and 3M make good plastic/acrylic polishes)E) re-assemble with RTV/GTE Silicone (or whatever sealant you choose)F) install on car and reap the benefits!Kit / 90 Reatta Coupe
pogonuts Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Aeroshell is the BEST & Long lasting that i have used.

Rattaboy Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 As Mongeoman stated above, have it clear coated and make it better than new and never have to mess with it again.
pogonuts Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Clear coat peel's in time, then you have a bigger mess stripping the clear coat.
