Which is a better glove to use when doing the more nasty work on an automobile please (pros/cons?)...Latex or something called "Nitrile"?

(Never heard of the nitrile but Harbor Freight has a decent sale on both of these gloves).

I used to be a bare handed guy. Many years. Now, when I do any tire, brake or tear down work I wear Mechanix gloves. I love 'em. For fine work I don't wear gloves. I see my parts guy with nitrile gloves all the time. He swears by 'em. He deals with chemicals all day long.

I've figured out that I have to use lotion quite a bit, cuz my hands will crack up, and the grease/oil gets in the cracks and stays there. But, things are different when you don't have a girlfriend...

However, I do support the use of nonpermeable gloves when applying POR15. I had a little bit on my hands, and it stayed for over a week.

I've become use to using dish soap and small amounts at a time, but taking a few minutes to wash my hands.

Then I have to clip my nails, since the grease won't get out.

There you go...my experiences with my Reatta, and my hands. My coupe is a true hand-built car
