Centurion Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Derek, I received your e-mail requesting information about fuel prices in the Seattle area. It appears that my reply was not deliverable, so figured I'd post the information here. Derek is trying to determine the best combination of vehicles to bring out to Seattle next summer for the Buick Nationals, and fuel prices will be a factor in his decision.I need to research current prices, and will post the information here as soon as I can. As you know, fuel prices can swing significantly during the course of the year, and prices during the summer months are typically more expensive. Much of the country between here and Minnesota boasts lower fuel prices than we see right here in the Seattle area. If past experience is any indication, fuel may be cheaper on the U.S. side than you would experience driving across Maple Leaf 1.I'll post more when I can. Thanks for your inquiry.
Guest imported_Thriller Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Thanks Brian. I got your initial response. Mark Shaw sent me this web site that comes courtesy of the federal government. I was surprised to see diesel more expensive than gasoline - we are the other way around generally. To preface Brian's response, I am looking at 2 possible scenarios - drive the Wildcat and accompany with the Rainier or purchase / rent a trailer and haul the Wildcat with the truck. Both ways get us there with enough seat belts and relative comfort, although the truck and trailer would be a bit more cumbersome. I figure that I would burn about half the fuel if I took the truck, but that would be compensated for with the cost of a trailer.I'm still hemming and hawing, but it's good to have the information to start making plans.
