Guest Duanesk Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Were the spotlights optional equipment or dealer installed? What brand spotlight would have came on a 1946 Super Conv.? My car has a Guide spotlight with a mirror on it and a black handle. I believe it should have an ivory handle??Thanks for the help,Duane
Guest Straight eight Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Black handles for for 1948 and up. The handle should match the steering wheel.
WallyL Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 My 1947 Super Convertible has a spotlight that looks to be a factory installation with the ivory handle matching the steering wheel and other knobs. The outside rear view mirrors (door-mounted) look to be the stock installation, and separate from the spotlight. The installation however is quite awkward, with the spotlight usually in the way of the hood when opening and/or the mirror contacts the spotlight when opening the door. Not a very elegant design, if original. Makes me want to remove the spotlight. Am I missing something? Thanks,
Bill Stoneberg Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 My 47 has spotlights mounted in the windshield pillars and they also hit the hood when I open it. It looks like factory installation but dealers put a lot of bling on the cars back then. It was right after the war and they were selling every car they could produce, so they loaded them up
